What is digital property?

The answer

Digital property is a digital asset held with the attributes of property: unique title, a transferable record of provenance, and rights that survive the platform that issued them. It is the durable frame beneath the labels the cycle produced — virtual land, collectibles, credentials, and the title layer of tokenized physical assets.

The vocabulary matters because it sets the test. Asking whether something is an NFT invites a question about a market that has been and gone; asking whether it is property invites the questions that decide value — who holds title, what rights transfer with it, and what remains if the issuing platform closes. An instrument that fails the last question is a licence, not property, and should be priced as one.

Where the frame is institutionally live is unglamorous and growing: credentialing and certification, ticketing with enforceable resale terms, brand and loyalty programmes, and the title layer beneath tokenized physical assets, where the token is the certificate of ownership rather than the asset itself. GDA covers the segment on that basis across its digital assets and tokenization work.
